JIMARS

Dr. J.B. Banerji, a busy General Medical practitioner of Allahabad, started a part time initiative of providing rehabilitation appliances to the physically handicapped in a garage. He used scrap & local resources, including artisans, and started providing simple therapies and low-cost appliances to the poor and needy persons with disability.
Started in 1974 by Dr. Jyoti Bhushan Banerji (Padmashri), it was taken to newer heights by his son Dr. Bhasker Banerji- an Orthopaedic Surgeon of Repute, with significant experience in Rehabilitation, who gave shape and tangible developments in taking it towards sustainability and linking it with Modern Science and Technology, yet retain the ethos and cultural traditions of our country.
